Maya Grobel is a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist with a private practice in West Los Angeles that specializes in supporting individuals and couples struggling to conceive. Maya has written about infertility for various outlets such as the New York Times, Fertility Smarts and Pregnatish, and for many years wrote a Resolve Hope award nominated blog called Don’t Count Your Eggs that followed her five year journey to parenthood. Maya and her TV producer husband Noah made a feature length film documenting their tumultuous journey to parenthood called One More Shot, which is now available on Vimeo on Demand.

Dvora Entin, LCSW, PMH-C, Clinical Supervisor at Yesh Tikva, specializes in Maternal Mental Health, inclusive of infertility, perinatal loss, fetal anomaly terminations, and postpartum depression/anxiety. She has a passion for helping women “find their footing” through the challenges of womanhood and motherhood with a commitment to excellent, professional care. With certificate training by the MISS Foundation, Postpartum Support International and ASRM, Dvora presents nationally on infertility, compassionate bereavement, perinatal death and other women’s mental health matters. Dvora developed and directs JFCS Ma’oz in Philadelphia, a unique initiative to engage the Orthodox community on mental health issues. She moderates the Pregnancy Loss phone support calls for K’nafayim, and for Yesh Tikva on infertility. In 2017, her BLOOM program to engage the Orthodox community on Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders won the Perinatal Mental Health Society Innovation award. Additionally, Dvora maintains a small private practice in Philadelphia.

Panelists

Dr. Diana Chavkin is a board certified Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist who currently sees patients at HRC Fertility in West Los Angeles. She earned her medical degree at New York University and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and her Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She has treated thousands of women with infertility. As a woman who has personally struggled with infertility, she knows how important it is to have a doctor and medical team that is compassionate, transparent and focused on excellent results.

Jennifer Siegel is a licensed and certified genetic counselor with over 20 years of genetic counseling experience. She is a graduate of the Sarah Lawrence Graduate Program in Human Genetics. She is the founder of the Loyola University Medical Center and Northwestern University Medical Group oncology genetic counseling programs. Approximately 5 years ago she made the switch from clinical based counseling to industry and started working for a large, commercial genetic testing laboratory as a genetic testing specialist. She grew into sales and product management and left to join Sema4, a Mount Sinai Venture, in early 2017 to become the national sales director and bring Sema4 to the entire country.

Carole LieberWilkins is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in West Los Angeles (CA 18998) and Boise, Idaho (ID 5979) providing individual and couples counseling. A specialist in the field of reproductive medicine, adoption, and family building options since 1986, she became a founding member of Resolve of Greater Los Angeles in 1987 and served on the Board of Directors in various positions for the next 14 years.
Carole is the Patient Advisor on the Board of Directors of Parents via Egg Donation and the Mental Health Advisor for SEEDS, the Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy as well as a professional member of both Resolve and Path2Parenthood. She is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine Mental Health Professional Group. In addition, her own experience creating a family through adoption and ovum donation deepens her understanding of the challenges others face when exploring these complex family building options.

Patricia Mendell, LCSW, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan/Brooklyn counseling individuals, couples, and families created through assisted conception. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine; ASRM’s Mental Health Professional Group (MHPG), a MHPG Mentor, author and lecturer on alternative family building. Her specialties include: decision making in family building, (donor egg/sperm/embryo, surrogacy), and adoption; coaching donor-conceived families with storytelling; infertility; pregnancy loss and new parenting concerns; life skill coaching; and marital/relationship counseling. Patricia leads the Family Building Network monthly support group for families created through donation and surrogacy. In addition, she psychologically screens egg/sperm donors, surrogates and intended parents for donor agencies and IVF programs.
